The Antoniadis Palace Restoration project in Alexandria involved the comprehensive rehabilitation of one of the city’s most distinguished historic residences. The palace was originally built as a villa surrounded by gardens, designed by the French architect Paul Richard in the French style. The owner later bequeathed the property to the Municipality of Alexandria, and ownership was transferred in 1918. The palace has since hosted distinguished visitors and important events. The palace consists of two floors with numerous rooms, a basement, and service quarters on the roof. During the reign of King Fouad, the ground floor was designated as reception halls and a dining room, along with an office and library. The upper floor was divided into two royal sleeping quarters connected by a breakfast hall. From the southern side, four princesses’ rooms offer a view of the Venus statue, whose reflective mirror catches the sunrise light to illuminate the chambers.
