The palace has maintained its grandeur and splendor, transforming into a museum that reflects the luxury with which it was built. It has witnessed many significant events in the nation&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of Abdeen Palace was part of Khedive Ismail&#8217;s plan to build a modern Cairo inspired by European cities. Ismail ordered its construction upon ascending to power in 1863. The palace contains 500 rooms and reception halls painted in white, red, and green to receive official delegations visiting Egypt.
